Laser Cutting
Our Shropshire high speed laser cutting facility in Telford can laser cut a wide variety of materials - aluminium, stainless steels and all mild steel grades, making our laser cutting services suitable for many different industries.
By investing in modern CNC systems and laser cutting technology, we can "nest" components - generating maximum parts yield per sheet, dramatically lowering unit costs. Complex shapes and profiles can be produced in a high tolerance, high speed manner compared to other methods of machining. Tooling costs are zero.
Modern laser cutting systems have such great power and capability that we can now laser cut ever thicker materials to high degrees of intricacy and fine detail. Fast processing times, excellent production delivery timescales and rapid prototype potential can easily be achieved.
We can also help with the design of products for sheet metal manufacturing, with our full 3D programming systems.
We have also invested in tubular laser cutting facilities at our Shropshire site.
What is laser cutting?
Laser cutting is a manufacturing process that is used primarily by industry (although it is now starting to see use in schools and other businesses) to cut very precise patterns in materials like metals, plastics and wood.
The complexity of the shapes that can be cut, and the accuracy with which they can be, is impossible with conventional machining tools.
The process works by exciting a gaseous medium, usually carbon dioxide, causing it to amplify light that is bouncing back and forth in the machine's laser chamber. Eventually the amplified light emerges from the chamber, where it is focused to a very precise point.
